The purpose of the 2009 IEEE PES Joint Technical Committee Meeting is to provide a forum where PES technical committees can meet for up to 5 days to focus on technical matters and standards - the primary work of committees, subcommittees, working groups, and/or task forces - without the distractions of the unrelated elements generally found at other PES meetings or expositions.

A special presentation will be given on Monday afternoon at 4:30 pm by Lisa Yacone of IEEE-SA Standards Board. This presentation will provide an overview of the New Standards Committee that reviews and approves all proposed standards development projects. Lisa will also provide a tutorial to explain the PAR (Project Authorization Request) submittal process. Anyone who is involved or interested in the development of new or revised standards is encouraged to attend this presentation as it will provide “behind the scenes” information about what goes on in the administration of the standards development process. The meeting will be from 4:30 -5:30 pm on Monday 12th January in room Georgia 6.
